Boys will be boys
An incredulous mom called us recently with a remarkable tale of woe involving her family’s Skowhegan Jumbo Slant. Tracey Dacko was still shaking her head as she recounted the day when the bulldozer showed up to begin work on a garage to hold her husband’s car collection. Brett, the husband, reportedly watched for as long as he could stand it. Finally, he broke down and asked the contractor if he could try out the bulldozer himself. Well, Brett successfully filled the bucket loader with fresh earth and rocks. But then he dumped them on the playset. Now, CedarWorks Slant ladders are built to hold a tremendous amount of weight, even when it’s plummeting down from high altitude. But this was just too much. We decided to pay tribute to Brett’s accomplishment, unintentional though it was, by providing a new Slant Ladder at no charge.
Of course, we don’t promise to replace parts for free in every situation involving human complicity. But we do encourage you to call us, as Tracey did, and we’ll work something out. Even if the broken or missing parts are small (such as attachment bungies mangled by an errant vacuum cleaner), we want you to have a quality replacement. We also like a good story.
While we’re talking rocks, we do recommend that you check now and then to see if any have appeared under or around your playset. You shouldn’t need a bucket loader to remove them, just a little hand-picking here and there to keep the playing surface soft and safe.
And if someone at your house does offer to move anything with a big machine, just pat him on the head and send him off to the auto parts store.
